Coffee Guy Roasters
and the perfect cup of coffee

The Coffee Guy

The Coffee Guy – has been in the coffee business for over 20+ years – originally from a mobile coffee trailer to coffee shops and takeaways, and for the last 10 years to roasting – in pursuit of the perfect cup.

Coffee is about the bringing together of people and changing and enhancing the way they start and share their day.

Keep it simple but make it good.

Cape Town is following closely in the footsteps of Australia who are at present leading the coffee evolution world-wide with their roasting methods and innovative residual products, so we have an ever-growing education of coffee drinkers that are becoming more and more discerning about what they choose to drink, and they are no longer falling for just the décor or theme.

Our goal is to create the best blended coffee in the world – why not.  It is a misnomer that the Italians or the French or European coffee is the best as I believe they do, as tradition prescribes – over roast their beans. We are now aware of the ability to develop the flavours by roasting the beans in batches with smaller quantities and then blending them to create the smooth and incredibly interesting tastes that the differing coffees from around the world have to offer.

Roasting beans is just the beginning, we like to think that we will evolve the journey with the input from both our customers and our awareness of world trends.

From 2015 we grew the roasting business to a degree that we needed to separate the business for the sake of larger premises needed to grow the demand for our roasted beans. In May of 2019, we took premises in Fisheagle Park an Industrial site near Kommetjie.  From here we intend to develop our existing market and expand our offering. This will include the roasting and packaging of our House Blend and select single origin beans as well as packaging into recyclable pods, and to further develop a range of up-cycled products from our by-products – such as a selection of hessian and leather handbags, aprons and cushions – from our coffee sacks. As well as pottery cups and items also made from the coffee knock out waste from the old ground coffee.
